The Vermont Department of Health Division of Substance Use Programs, in partnership with the Vermont Collaborative for Practice Improvement & Innovation, is pleased to announce the Vermont Conference on Substance Use is returning to Burlington on May 5 & 6, 2027.
Over two days, attendees will gather at the DoubleTree by Hilton to learn and connect with colleagues, practitioners, and experts from across the continuum of care. The schedule will include workshops, panels, and keynote presentations that highlight national and regional voices around today’s most critical and important issues in substance use treatment, prevention, policy, and more. Select sessions will be available via a virtual option for those not able to attend in-person.
Abstracts for conference sessions are now being accepted for the 2027 Vermont Conference on Substance Use.
Developing an abstract:
Proposed content should highlight proven and innovative practices, tools, and modalities across Vermont’s substance use system of care (i.e. prevention, intervention, treatment, harm reduction, recovery).
Learning goals and objectives should benefit people that work, volunteer, or have personal involvement in Vermont’s continuum of substance use services.
Data-informed content is encouraged.

Proposals are due on Friday, October 30, 2026.
Notification of proposal outcomes will be issued as soon as possible by an interdisciplinary team.
